How It Works
BMI is calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared (kg/m2). WHO classifications are: <18.5 underweight, 18.5-24.9 normal, 25-29.9 overweight, 30+ obese (Class I: 30-34.9, Class II: 35-39.9, Class III: 40+). BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnostic measure, and should be considered alongside other clinical findings.
