How It Works

Oral liquid dosage uses the formula: (Desired Dose / Available Concentration) x Volume. For example, if you need 250 mg and the liquid has 125 mg per 5 mL, you give (250/125) x 5 = 10 mL. This calculation is critical for pediatric patients and any patient who cannot swallow tablets.
